Engineering Internship w/ City of Susanville: Call for Letters of Interest

The City of Susanville Public Works Department is considering internships and/or part time positions at a technician level for the coming year.  No positions have been approved by City Council to date but we would like a sense of the level interest regionally and availability of interested students or graduates.

Those interested need to have successfully completed basic science and mathematics coursework in Physics, Chemistry, Trigonometry, along with Technical Writing and CAD.  Work experience in construction and surveying are highly desired as well. Compensation will likely be dependent upon experience and completed college courses in the engineering field.  The work will consist of a variety of office and field work with  CAD design, estimating, data collection, analysis and construction inspection in a support role for pavement, water system and traffic engineering design and construction projects.

Susanville and Lassen County are ideal for those interested in the outdoors. We offer excellent hiking, biking, kayaking, fishing, hunting, golf and camping opportunities. Housing is relatively inexpensive and a variety of opportunities are present for those interested in relocating temporarily or permanently.  Letters of interest via e-mail <dgibbs@cityofsusanville.org> are acceptable.  The letters should indicate coursework completed, experience if any, availability and desired compensation.
