Important Message from Dean Smith, College of Natural Resources & Sciences

April 6, 2018

Dear College of Natural Resources and Sciences students:

As you likely know, the California State University and our campus is preparing for a smaller budget next year. The dean’s office has been working with the Provost and our college budget committee and the Council of Chairs to reduce our spending to prepare for these reductions. We have worked carefully to avoid impacting your ability to get the classes required for your major as you make progress toward your degree.

That said, if you are having trouble finding the courses you need to make progress in your degree, please send an email to Associate Dean Rick Zechman (rick.zechman@humboldt.edu) and CC your advisor and department chair. CNRS Associate Dean Zechman will work with me (steven.smith@humboldt.edu) and your department chair to explore options for helping you to meet your graduation requirements. We are all committed to assisting you with any scheduling challenges.

I wish you the very best success as the semester winds down and I look forward to seeing many of you at commencement as we celebrate your accomplishments!

Sincerely,

Steven A. Smith, Ph.D.
Interim Dean, College of Natural Resources and Sciences
