Why did you choose this program?

I chose Environmental Resources Engineering because I wanted a challenge, and the opportunity to have a positive effect on the environment for present and future generations.

How did this program prepare you for your job?

I use the skills I learned at HSU everyday. I learned how to perform environmental assessments, how to properly collect and log samples, the fundamentals of material testing, and how to be a competent technical writer.

What did you enjoy most about the program?

The best thing about my time at HSU was being surrounded by so many smart, dedicated, and caring people. There was a great sense of teamwork, and there was always someone who was willing to lend a hand when you needed it.

What would you say to prospective students who are thinking about applying to this program?

Environmental Resources Engineering is probably the most challenging degree you can get at HSU, but if you're willing to put in the work, it's also the most rewarding. An engineering degree opens up a lot of doors to all sorts of different career paths. You can work in a wide variety of industries doing office work, lab work, field work, or research. Whatever appeals to you, you'll find lots of opportunities.
