The Engineering Department of the Santa Ana Watershed Project Authority (SAWPA), based in Riverside, CA, has the following vacancies for student intern positions.

Water Resources Planning Intern ($15.00/hour): Santa Ana Watershed Project Authority (SAWPA), a regional watershed based public agency located in Riverside, CA, seeks a university or college student majoring in environmental science, civil engineering, water resource planning, or related technical field to assist staff in evaluating, planning, and developing a variety of water resources and environmental planning studies and projects. Duties include assisting staff developing regional water resource studies, planning watershed management programs and projects, managing data using spreadsheet tools, creating presentations, and assisting with grant applications.  The successful candidate for this position should possess basic organizational, technical and computer skills. Strong written communication and research skills are desired.

Position is a part-time position with full time status available during summer months and/or part time during school year with a total limit of 12 months. Work hours are flexible. Engineering Intern ($15.00/hour): Santa Ana Watershed Project Authority (SAWPA), a regional watershed based public agency located in Riverside, CA, seeks a university or college student majoring in environmental science, civil engineering, or related technical field to assist staff in evaluating, preparing various engineering studies, operation and maintenance of the Inland Empire Brine Line, a unique facility that provides an economical way for industry to dispose of salty wastewater produced through manufacturing and water treatment processes.  Duties include assisting staff developing Brine Line planning studies, condition assessments, reviewing utility plans, review pipeline inspection video, managing data using spreadsheet tools and creating presentations.  The successful candidate for this position should possess basic organizational, technical and computer skills. Strong written communication and research skills are desired.
