Montana State University Research Experiences for Undergraduates (REU) Program

The active research groups of the Montana State University Electrical and Computer Engineering Department are offering 10 – 12 REU positions during summer 2022

Projects in this program involve developing and using optical, acoustic, and other techniques to understand the world around us. A detailed listing of research projects for the summer of 2022 can be found at https://ece.montana.edu/research/ece_reu/index.html.

Each participant will work closely with a faculty mentor and will gain hands-on experience in active research laboratories. In addition to the hands-on research experience, students will participate in a number of group activities aimed at developing the skills necessary to succeed in research.

The summer 2022 program will run from May 31st to August 5th. Stipends will be $6,000, a further $1,000 will be provided for meals, travel costs to and from Bozeman will be covered, and university residence hall lodging will be provided.

Eligibility: Participants must be full-time undergraduate students, and not yet have received a Bachelor’s degree at the time of the program. Applicants from underrepresented groups are particularly welcome. Participation is limited to US citizens and permanent residents.

To apply, please use the NSF Education and Training Application portal (https://www.nsfetap.org). Our program is listed as "Observing Our World with Light and Sound (Montana State ECE)." Application deadline is February 15, 2022.
