Reminder, Nominations Close 11/20: ERE Community Advocates (ERECA) Now Accepting Applications for New Student Members

To all ERE Students:

The Environmental Resources Engineering Community Advocates (ERECA) is a group of faculty and students whose mission is to catalyze the creation of an inclusive and cooperative ERE community. We work on supporting a culture that empowers every community member -- students, staff, and faculty --  to advocate for social equity, for their peers, and for themselves.

ERECA is now accepting applications for new student members --- nominations close on 11/20/2020.

The activities of ERECA include education, advocacy, hosting community events, and assessing our progress and gaps in equity and inclusion. This is important work and we need your help! During the Fall 2020 semester we are meeting once every two weeks, and depending on the activities the time commitment ranges from 1-2 hours a week.

We are planning to add four new student committee members this Fall. We ask that new members commit to serving at least one year, and it is possible to serve for up to three years.

You do not need particular qualifications - you do need an interest and commitment to equity - and we are looking for new members who are diverse in class standing, personal experience, and identity.

You can nominate yourself for ERECA here: https://forms.gle/oEEMh5GXcgf4BA758

If you know someone who would be a great community advocate, please encourage them to apply!
